Mapache Rent a Car ® has developed different strategies where different stakeholders (customers, employees, suppliers) are part of improving the environment contributing to social and environmental development.
We have different programs that have allowed us to balance actions within the commercial level, by getting results for the efforts we do. This led us to be recognized by the National Chamber of Tourism as a Socially Responsible Company in 2007 and 2009.
MINAE Ministry of Environment and Energy recognizes the contribution that Mapache Rent a Car ® gives to government policies to reduce CO2 as well as the contribution it makes to environmental reforestation and awareness of society to protect the environment on 05 June 2008.
Also in 2008 the Minister of Environment Mr. Roberto Dobles Mora recognizes the participation of Mapache Rent a Car ® for the support and participation of the Campaign ¡A Que Sembrás Un Arbol! (Dare You To Plant A Tree!) by reaching the goal of planting five million trees, and in 2008 was set the ambitious goal of seven million, which was surpassed in 7,323 units, seven million trees helped offset 2.3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide gases that contribute to global warming.
The Central American Integration System (SICA) and the Central American Commission on Environment and Development (CCAD) gives the Regional Award for Cleaner Production to Mapache Rent a Car ® due to the Processes for Carbon Neutrality and Operation Head of Solid Waste; this was given in their fourth edition in Managua Nicaragua in 2009.
COSEVI recognizes ROAD SAFETY work and efforts of Mapache Rent a Car ® as we developed programs not only internally but for the national levels, that lead us to become certified as a safe company by the Commitment to Road Safety in 2009-2010.
Aware of the importance of National Parks, Mapache Rent a Car ® becomes Founding Partner Program Tropical Forest Friends of the Parks.
In 2011 Mapache Rent a Car ® is awarded for the prize of Tourism Industry “Miguel Trejos” to the best car rental company by the National Chamber of Tourism.
In 2013 the Ministry of Environment and Energy gave the Guayacán Award for meritorious work our company does pro environment.
The National Commission on Ecological Blue Flag Program awards us with the prize of BAE Category: Actions to front climate change in May 2013 for the development and agreement of natural resources and the search for better sanitary conditions and improving public health, we got the highest award 5 stars.
The Institute of Technical Norms of Costa Rica, INTECO certifies the process of carbon neutrality of Mapache Rent a Car ® (maintenance process, operational process, workshop, car wash) since you do the issues the rent the vehicle until this vehicle is given as a carbon neutral operation; according to INTE 12-01-06 rule: 2011.
