REQUIREMENTS AND OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE RENTAL:
1 – Required deposit on hold: $904 for sedans, or $1130 for any 4×2 or 4×4 vehicle and $1695 for vehicles with capacity over 6 passengers and the Nissan Urvan (minivan) on a credit card (Accepted Credit Cards are: AMEX, VISA, MASTER CARD) When you pick up the vehicle, we will charge the rental service and we will put on hold on your credit card the amount of refundable deposit (both in one credit card) As a responsible and serious company we are, we will ask the bank to fully release the deposit if car is returned under the same conditions we gave it to you. This release delays up to one week due to internal procedures among our Banks. We send the order of the release immediately when you return the car back to us.
2- Your passport and driver license with valid expiration dates.
3- You must be older than 21 years old to drive in Costa Rica, but older than 25 to get full insurance.
4- Cars are not allowed to be driven outside the country.
5- ***All payments should be done with credit card. We do not accept payments on: two or more credit cards (only one), debit cards, checks, or cash, nor digital Wallet cards. And please note all charges will be done in USDollars. Everything has to be paid with the same credit card of the main person/driver of the car, since he/she will be the responsible person of the use of the vehicle, before the traffic authorities, the insurance company and bank operators.
6- Delivery service or Drop Off charges may vary depending on the places around the country. Drop off fee if returning to a different MAPACHE RENT a CAR office costs $90,40 no exception (IVA tax included)
7- It is prohibited to smoke inside the car, if you do it you’d be charged $282,50 (IVA tax included)
8- Any tire replacement requires a service fee charge depending on the place where it is needed.
9- Credit card holder is automatically primary driver, so other drivers will be charged additional $5,65 per day (IVA tax included)
10 – Please note kids under 10 years old must travel on Booster seats, so we can offer them for $3,40 each per day (IVA tax included)
11 – we do not do refunds in case you return car in advance, according to the information on the rental agreement
